The State Government of São Paulo, through Emae, opens this Tuesday, October 6, a public call for the choice of companies interested in installing floating photovoltaic projects in the Billings reservoir, in the capital of São Paulo. In August, CanalEnergia Agency had already announced the government’s intention to open the call. Participants must submit technical, financial and environmental documents provided for in the notice. According to the secretary of Infrastructure and the Environment, Marcos Penido, the pilot plant installed on the lake of the dam showed the viability of the project. For him, with the call, the São Paulo Government gives another important example in the use of renewable energies, in addition to generating jobs and income for the population.
Proposals for generation plants with power ranging from 1 MWp to 30 MWp will be presented in four pre-established locations at Biilings and, after analyzing the documents submitted, Emae will select the best proposals, with the possibility of being implemented by the qualified companies.
Once the necessary procedures have been completed with the regulatory agencies, Emae and the future partners may establish a Special Purpose Company to enable the implementation of floating photovoltaic solar plants, whose energy will be sold in the Regulated and Free Contracting Environments. Emae will have a share in the revenue due to the corporate structure and the business to be formed.
